**Consultant in Public Health (Assistant Director of Public Health)**
**Salary - TBCGroup Director 6 £83,546 per annum**
**Annual Leave 28 days (rising to 33 after 5 years) + bank holidays**
**Flexible/Hybrid working model (approximately 1 / 2 days per week in office)**
The post will be responsible for a wide-ranging portfolio of public health programmes and services, with a particular focus on adults and older people and public health intelligence and provide system leadership for health and wellbeing and reducing healthinequalities in Calderdale. The successful applicant will report into the Director of Public Health (DPH), although the Consultant in Public Health (Assistant Director) will work corporately across all functions of the Council to support the delivery of responsibilities.
**Role introduction**:
- Strategic leadership of partnerships, public health programmes and services, with a particular focus on improving outcomes and reducing inequalities in the health and wellbeing of adults and older people in Calderdale.
- Responsible for strategic oversight of healthcare public health and public health intelligence, working to embed health care public health approaches across and develop an intelligence culture across the local health, care and wellbeing system.
- You will work across organisations, influence budgets held by partners across the borough and at a West Yorkshire level, as well as effectively lead and advocate for change.
**Essential requirements**:
- You will need to be both operational and strategic as you will have hands on involvement meeting residents and organisations as well as playing a key role in leading two key strategic plans, the Wellbeing Strategy and the Economic Strategy.
- Broad public health knowledge and experience.
