At Pavers, we have opportunity for a Van Driver to join our Warehouse Distribution Team at our Head Office & Distribution Centre in York, Upper Poppleton, on a full time basis. This position is offered as a 40 hour per week contract, working Monday to Friday on shifts between 6.00am and 3.30pm, occasional flexibility might be required.

The role will include some heavy lifting at times so a good level of physical fitness is required. Previous delivery driver experience is preferred as well as good knowledge of completing vehicle health checks. You’ll be delivering to our store network so a good positive attitude and cheery disposition are a must.

You’ll join a team of drivers who work on rotation and when not driving, you’ll help out in the Warehouse with duties as required. You’ll be a key player in the distribution side of the business to ensure stock arrive safely and timely in our stores throughout the UK

**As a Van Drive you will be responsible for**:

- Deliver and bring back stock designated for other shops
- Maintain vehicle health checks, i.e. oil levels, tyre depths etc
- Comply with road traffic laws
- Process returns (COPS)
- Distribute pre-packed cartons into designated shop packing areas.
- Re-box small cartons into default cartons ready for despatch.
- Count number of cartons for despatch
- Load outgoing shipments onto transport
- Keep Warehouse and surrounding areas clean and tidy
- General Warehouse duties
- Comply with the Company Health & safety policy

**Requirements to be one of our Van Driver**:

- Conscientious driver 21+ (for insurance reasons)
- Ideally a clean Driver’s License with previous experience in Delivery Driving preferred
- Good level of physical fitness
- Good level of literacy and numeracy

Rate of Pay: £10.80 per hour with opportunity to increase to £11.25 per hour following completion of our in house additional training programme.
