Trainee Freight

On the track, Formula 1 is a team sport. And the business behind is the same. We’re looking for a Trainee Freight & Distribution Assistant to join our team. This is an apprenticeship opportunity within the stock control and distribution division, responsible for the management and distribution of company freight and assets.

- Based at Biggin Hill, Reporting into the Head of Freight & Distribution_
- , you will:_
- Willingness to learn and develop your skills in warehousing and distribution
- Support the freight and distribution department, working as part of a team and individually when required
- Safely drive and operate material handling equipment to standard as trained in compliance with safe working practices
- Safely and efficiently load/unload items into and from vehicles, buildings, containers either manually or using relevant equipment
- Learn and develop an understanding of supply chain regulation and legislation
- Gain an understanding of the industry, including methods and modes of transport
- Use of warehouse systems and processes relating to packaging, moving, and receiving stock
- Identify and use of appropriate packaging materials to facilitate safe handling, shipping, and environmental efficiency
- Waste management, recognising and working to minimise environmental impact
- Coordinate and implement the receival, dispatch, and transfer of goods
- Use of IT systems and other relevant technology including barcoding and RFID systems.
- PAT testing once trained
- Promote the values of the organisation, communicating effectively with internal departments and external suppliers and partners

Specification:

- Level 1 English and Math’s or equivalent
- Willingness to work within a team environment
- Desire to gain and share and implement knowledge
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Good computer literacy
- Ability to commute daily to Biggin Hill
