**An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Cost Improvement Programme Lead.**
Alongside the Director for Cost Improvement, the postholder will support the identification, development and delivery of the overall Cost Improvement Programme and coordinates all activities associated with this work to deliver the CIP requirements for the NCA.
The postholder will provide leadership and line management support to team members, including recruitment, career development, performance and work evaluation.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for leading the cost improvement programme at the NCA, coordinating activities to facilitate the successful delivery of agreed projects and schemes through active engagement and facilitation with colleagues including the relevant SROs.
The post holder will actively engage across a wide diversity of workstreams to successfully identify, develop and deliver projects within the cost improvement programmes in a timely manner given the requirements of the Financial Sustainability Plan (FSP).
The post holder will ensure that the cost improvement programme conform to the highest standards of data quality, information governance and information security, aligning the ambitions of the NCA
Working closely with colleagues aligned to change programmes within the NCA and local system partners.
The postholder will work closely with SROs, Project Lead and other colleagues, to understand their views, shaping and delivering programmes of work. The postholder will build relationships at a senior level across the organisation and local system to maximise the delivery impact of the cost improvement programme.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the delivery and is responsible for the day to day running of the Cost Improvement programme for NCA, ensuring projects and schemes are organised, delivered to the required quality, managed and reported within a structured cost improvement process.
- Work with clinicians and senior managerial colleagues across GM to identify viable opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Develop and support the maintenance of all cost improvement related project and transaction documentation and tracking and reporting tools including stakeholder communication and engagement plans, a detailed suite of PIDs, maintaining cost improvement risk, issue and change control logs, impact assessment overviews, all of which demonstrate adherence to the cost improvement governance process.
- Wherever possible, develop and promote cross Care Organisation and Programme wide working to share best practice across the wider organisational and regional healthcare system.
- Deputise for the Director for Cost Improvement and chair work stream meetings, leading the format of the meeting whilst also contributing and assisting in the identification, development and delivery of key milestones.
- Work within an environment where there may be significant barriers and resistance to change. Identify/create plans to mitigate and overcome risks, issues and barriers to change. The postholder will be required to present complex and sensitive/contentious information to large groups including external very senior executive and clinical colleagues where to atmosphere will be antagonistic because of major change proposals.
