Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes - whatever they may be
Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.
ENABLE Scotland creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.

The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. Let us introduce you to **Thomas and William**:They are both men in their fifties who live independently in the southside of Glasgow. They live a few miles apart, but share a staff team who provide support for almost every aspect of their day to day living requirements.
**William** is a quiet, thoughtful man with a creative streak and an independent spirit. He is very musical and loves to play the drums on his kit at home - he especially enjoys playing along with an friend or support worker. A couple of days a week, William attends a local resource centre where he has been learning gardening skills, which have come in useful in his own garden at home. Aside from this, William likes to meet up for a meal with his pals once a week. He follows his local junior football team, attending home games when he can. William receives support 7 days a week, usually from 9am - 9pm.
**Thomas **is a similarly soulful individual, who loves going on day trips - sometimes by bus, sometimes by train - where he enjoys watching the world go by. He is a man of culture and likes to take in everything from plays to pints, museums to merry-go-rounds. A typical day might involve planning a day out in Glasgow, choosing a route, a destination - maybe a movie, maybe the seaside - and a couple of places to stop for a cuppa along the way. Thomas takes a keen interest in what's going on in the world and likes to talk about the big topics of the day. Thomas receives support 5 days a week usually between the hours of 10am and 5.30pm, with the odd longer shift.
Sadly, it’s not always possible for Thomas and William to enjoy what many people would consider these ‘simple pleasures’ without proper, dedicated support. That is why they need you Will you bring your best so that William and Thomas can live their best life?
