We are currently recruiting for an experienced Purchasing Manager for a well-established Manufacturing Client based in Wigan.

You will be leading a department which will include purchasing and stock control, being responsible for a procurement budget of £12M pa plus stocks of £1M-£2M.

Hours:Monday to Thursday 07:00-17:00 (4-day week)

**Salary**:£45,000 - £60,000 (DOE)

**As the Purchasing Manager your duties & responsibilities will be**:

- Establish comprehensive sourcing, purchasing and inventory control processes.
- Review/Renegotiate all supplier contracts to achieve significant cost saves of approx. £0.5M-£1.0M pa.
- Represent supply management on R&D’s new product development initiatives.
- Identify and develop potential suppliers
- Perform research on market changes, market forces, pricing & supply problems.
- Investigate trends in pricing and availability of typical materials, goods and services.
- Lead project procurement planning
- Manage stock to optimal levels.

**The successful Purchasing Manager will have the following skills/experience**:

- Must have minimum 10 years experience showing solid progression (including management experience)
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably related to buying in building components/materials.
- Superior negotiating skills, with a track record of successful negotiations of agreements.
- Strategic thinker with ability to contribute at Management Team level.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
