**Permanent, Full Time, 37 Hours Per Week**

We are currently looking to appoint a permanent Senior Caretaker based at Riverside House, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. The caretakers cover 81 nominated buildings across the Borough, delivering goods, carrying out fire alarm checks, repairs and maintenance duties. The post includes contractual weekend and on-call duties working on a rota-basis.

Working as part of a busy team, we are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and flexible Senior Caretaker to join the Central Caretaking team operating from Riverside House.

The postholder will ensure the security, safety, cleanliness, maintenance, and repair of Council buildings, including being a keyholder, which requires travelling to various locations throughout the Borough with the use of a fleet vehicle.

A shift rota system is in place, including the requirement to work weekends and provide emergency callout cover. The weekday shift pattern is split between 06:00 - 14:00 and 13:00 - 21:00, with weekends being 08:00 - 17:00.

Experience of supervising staff and delegating tasks

Knowledge and experience should include carrying out routine repair work to buildings and understanding of Health & Safety requirements.

Knowledge of building security and equipment

Ability to demonstrate working in an environment where literacy and numeracy skills have been demonstrated

NQF Level 2 qualification e.g., GCSEs Grades 4-9, NVQs Level 2, GNVQs Intermediate, City and Guilds Craft or Part 2,

Or

Evidence of the equivalent level of knowledge gained through work experience
