**Site Security Officer**

**Location: Flexible
- Can be based out of Bristol, Templecombe or Turnchapel**

**About the role**:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a **Site Security Officer **to join our team. As a Site Security officer, you will be responsible to provide an effective and efficient security service to all the Thales businesses and functions on different sites to ensure compliance with relevant national, Group and UK security policies and procedures.

You will be travelling at least once a week between Templecombe, Bristol, Turnchapel, Wells, Shepton Mallet and South Wales to provide support on these sites.

It will be a remote role based at the Bristol/Templecombe/Turnchapel site. The role will support the employees on the other sites and be responsible for the FSC areas as well as the physical security around key operational areas. The role will interact with local police force and understand the threat picture for the area.

**Key responsibilities**

Reporting to the Templecombe Site Security Manager, on a day-to-day basis you’ll be involved in:

- Supporting the site manager in the execution of the site security operations in areas such as, physical, material, document, personnel and information security
- Assisting the site to ensure compliance with policies and processes in accordance with corporate governance in relation to security as defined in Chorus referential system
- Assisting with site internal and external audits
- Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of Site Security Plan (SSP)
- Updating the site security risk register
- Ensuring the correct issuing, storage, mustering and destruction of classified assets
- Working closely with 3rd party service providers as jointly agreed by Thales in the scope of work paper in respect of the implementation of the manned guarding contract.
- Maintaining Thales site accreditation and/or relevant HMG accreditations
- Communicate information management and security awareness campaigns to all employees and contracted staff.
- Liaison with customer / sub-contractor security organisations to advise on the correct and secure conduct of all contracts
- Report all suspected security breaches and if required, carry out thorough investigations of any suspected security breaches making recommendations for appropriate actions
- Provide advice and guidance to the business to protect Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of Company, customer and third-party information and assets.
- To act as Crypto custodian if applicable.

**About you**

Essential:

- Be able to demonstrate relevant experience working in a similar security related role/environment OR have an interest in developing your career in this area
- Conscientious, Flexible, Committed and diligent in role.
- Able to speak with authority and influence change by presentation of well-structured and thought through requirements.
- Possess good organisational, communication, presentation and report writing skills
- Have experience of building relationships with customers, partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders at all levels
- Be a self-starter with a positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
- Must be eligible for SC level Security Clearance at UK Eyes Only.

Desirable:

- Knowledge of JSP 400
- Have knowledge and understanding of List X(FSC) and the UK MoD cryptographic procedures.
- Experience working as a Crypto Custodian/Alternate or possess equivalent certification/qualification in Security.
