**The Opportunity - Packaging Technologist
We are excited to be recruiting for a Packaging Technologist to join our Process and Process Development team. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire (offering hybrid 3 days a week on site)

**The Role**

To support the Packaging Manager in ensuring that all packaging trial request forms, artworks and packing specifications are accurately completed and approved in line with critical path timescales and launch deadlines. Support in all activities involved ensuring right first time launches.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Participate in providing continuous improvement and problem-solving activities to drive improvements across all aspects of packaging.
- Completing the necessary trial reports to document trial progress and approval.
- Assist in organising the packaging trial samples stored in the warehouse.
- Create new packing specifications in line with product specifications, new artwork files and factory operational requirements.
- Co-ordinate the movement of artwork files for approval from all stakeholders ensuring critical path timings are adhered to.
- Approval of new artwork designs to meet technical requirements.
- Maintain active and archived artwork files.
- Maintain the artwork critical path tracker.
- Building good relationships with brand owners and printers to drive excellent quality in printed packaging.

**Knowledge, skills and experience**:

- Good level of computer literacy, Microsoft packages Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent eye for detail with good problem-solving skills.
- Being self-motivated, energetic, and positive.
- Organising and planning with he ability to work to dealines.
- Ability to lead multiple projects and prioritise own focus accordingly. Experience in packaging, food, or pet food industry is advantageous
