Merchandiser - Diy

**We are looking for an experienced Merchandiser to join our Buying team, on our DIY category. In this role, you will be working alongside the Buyer with the day-to-day running of a busy department.**

**The role is based full time at our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool L24.**

**The Key Accountabilities in the role are**:

- Working to tight restrictions to ensure stock is maintained throughout the year at the correct levels
- Assisting with the creation of weekly core stock orders, which is the main task of the departments, managing these orders into the business efficiently
- Driving Performance for key trading periods i.e. new product range launches, seasonal peaks, promotional events etc.
- Analysing data from the previous year & current trends to make the right decisions, identifying “gaps“ in current market
- Cultivating close working relationships with key suppliers to maximise sales/profit throughout the range
- Maintain and update WSSI’s & Line cards on a daily basis
- Working to calendars, which involves forecasting crucial lines for long periods
- Being proficient in the use of Excel where the business uses heavily formulated worksheets to manipulate reports into the desired information required
- Already an experienced Merchandiser or a strong Junior Merch who is ready to step up
- Results orientated with a track record of achieving targets & delivering growth
- Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Able to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, methodical with numbers
- Able to utilise data to fully understand customer behaviour and habits
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
