The **Sales Director**, EMEA Gulf will have management responsibility for a team of field-based sales professionals working to deliver sub-regional goals and country-level sales plans. The EMEA Gulf sales team will be further supported by theInside Sales, Tenders, Customer Service, and Technical Support teams within the region. This role will work cross-functionally to ensure that the activities of MarComms, Technical Marketing, Applications and Market Development teams are aligned with the salesactivities to meet and exceed commercial expectations. To achieve these goals, this role will be required to undertake at least 50% travel and be based within the Region. It is expected that you will visit our UK office each quarter as a minimum (travel restrictionspermitting).

Duties and responsibilities:

- Planning of commercial activity to redefine the existing NGS market
- Management of local commercial office and facility
- Device and consumable sales forecasting
- Lead and motivate the sales teams to drive sales growth according to the targets set
- Build cross functional regional and country-specific pods with other commercial leaders to ensure customer centric focus in delivering to targets
- Work with the Technical Marketing, Applications, Government Affairs and Market Development functions to identify new market trends within region
- Delivering to the agreed commercial targets for the direct sales of all Oxford Nanopore platforms
- Ensure the team adhere to standard methodologies for tracking, recording and documenting relevant commercial intelligence from all customer interactions
- Build relationships with Key Opinion Leader customers and across broad fields of research interest
- Develop strong internal relationships with executive teams, delivering key requirements and outcomes when required.

Experience and qualifications:
BSc degree (preferably in the Lifesciences) / Post Graduate Study in related scientific field/business field
- 5 years track record as a Sales leader in genomics or equivalent field
Experience and expertise in establishing delivering against local sales plans in markets across Europe and/or UK
Successful leadership/remote team management experience Experience selling complex products/services utilising a "consultative sales" approach
Lead with customer focused leadership
Knowledge of the Genomics / Life Sciences field Commercial acumen, and deep understanding of the sales process, driving discipline in sales cycle across team
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Strong presentation and negotiation skills, coming from a place of confidence
Excellent organisational and time management skills Sales Forecasting and Reporting
