We are currently recruiting an experienced PMO Lead to join the IT team.

**The role**

The PMO Lead will bring demonstrable Project and Programme Management Office experience, and strong engagement and commercial thinking to the team. Working closely with the other IT functions and aligned to a specific programme, the PMO Lead will ensure that projects are delivered to meet business and regulatory requirements in a cost-effective manner and deliver agreed business outcomes by holding sponsors and project teams to account

This role will be an integral part of the project delivery improvement that will result in a significant improvement in project delivery to time, cost and quality measures. The aim is to deliver projects faster and more cost effectively allowing the business sponsor to recognise the business value earlier.

**What we are looking for**
- MSP, APMP, PRINCE2 or P3O qualified;
- A detailed understanding of project delivery frameworks;
- Experience of supporting a PMO function (project intake, resource demand planning, budget management, risk assumption, issue and dependency management, stakeholder identification and analysis, benefits mapping, lessons learnt etc);
- Experience of using a PPM tool;
- Excellent inter-personal and stakeholder management skills that can be demonstrated through the ability to challenge constructively, not accept decisions at face value and have the necessary gravitas to build credible relationships at a senior level;
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to describe technical issues in a non-technical way;
- Broad PMO experience in a multi-sourced environment;
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills;
- Experience of supporting business change programmes and projects - to provide the understanding and credibility to engage effectively with programme and project managers while holding them to account;
- Experience of working in a Utilities environment - to enable rapid establishment of an understanding of the business functions and changes being delivered (desirable);
- Full UK driving licence.
