The client is a cutting-edge biotech company focused on cell lines for the cultivated agriculture sector. Producing cell lines for the cultivated meat industry, the client has a unique technology and businessmodel that is helping make cultivated meat and seafood a reality across the globe.
The role will be focused on developing and validating scalable upstream bioprocessing protocols to show that the clients’ cells can grow to high densities in large-scale bioreactors. You will be working across the innovation and commercial facing teams, contributingto advancements within animal stem cell cultivation at scale.
**What you'll be doing**:

- Working on upstream bioprocess development and bioreactor optimisation within the cultivated meat sector.
- Develop and validate scalable upstream bioprocessing protocols, providing evidence that the cells grow to high densities in large-scale bioreactors.
- Working with the commercial and innovation teams to advance the field of stem cell cultivation at scale, supporting with technology transfer for other major players within the cultivated meat sector.
- Advancing your skillset, working with global leaders within the space and enjoying personal career development.
**What experience you’ll need to apply?**:

- Experience in academia and/or industry in mammalian/stem cell culture bioreactor operation. This will be either batch, batch-fed, and/or perfusion culture.
- Experience delivering a research project, from design through to execution, data processing, and experimental reports.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office package.
- Experience of working to GMP and relevant ISO standards.
- Experience working within the cultivated meat sector. Ideally, this will be focused on scale-up and cell density optimisation.
- Experience in stem cell pluripotency maintenance and differentiation techniques.
- Experience in cell culture media design and component analysis.
- Experience in metabolic flux analysis and bioprocess modelling
- Experience in project delivery and report writing, or commercial R&D projects.

**What you’ll get in return for your experience**:
This is a full-time position (40 hours) with core hours of 9am-5pm Monday-Friday in-lab. There is a 1-hour break for lunch. There is the requirement for occasional weekend work which are given back as TOIL (Time Off In Lieu). The role includes a competitivesalary banding of £30-£50k (dependent on experience) and;
- 32 days of holiday (including Bank Holidays).
- 10% employer and 5% employee pension contribution.
