Material Handler

Job Summary:
The Material Handler is an entry level position based out of our Barnsley site reporting into the UK IDCS Manager and will be working with various operations teams at the Nexus facility to complete customer orders.
The Material Handler will be multi skilled and will support the EUC configuration team, the IDCS team and the warehouse team. This position reports directly the relevant departmental manager and is primarily responsible for basic technical operational functions (see job responsibilities for details), picking, kitting, material movement and custom labelling.

**Responsibilities**:
- Include but are not limited to:_
- Picking of components
- Unpacking, packing, and kitting of hardware and components
- Asset tagging and asset management
- Setting up computer systems in preparation of configurations
- Assembling packaging such as corrugated boxes
- Preparing units for system Imaging.
- Basic computer hardware installation/upgrades (including but not limited to memory, hard drives, and NICs)
- Communicate and escalate with management on a regular basis regarding customer orders
- Movement of materials between departments.
- Assisting various teams with tasks required to keep the operation running smoothly.
- Ensure all elements of the job are completed to SHI’s ISO standards.
Qualifications:
- 3 GCSE’s
**Required Skills**:
- Ability to take initiative
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in groups depending on project needs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Outlook
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to learn additional skills to maintain technical competencies
- Be flexible in their approach to the working day.
Unique Requirements:
- Be physically fit, as the role will involve lifting and movement of materials.
