- Nature_, the international weekly journal of science, seeks to appoint an **Associate/Senior** **Editor** to cover the broad scientific fields of **astronomy and astrophysics.**

Do you love science but feel that a research career isn’t enough to sate your desire to learn more about the natural world? Do you enjoy reading paper and learning of the latest updates outside your chosen area of research? If the answer is ‘yes’, you could be the person we’re looking for to join the editorial team of _Nature_.

**To be considered for the position, you will have**:

- Research experience to PhD level (or equivalent) in a relevant research discipline, possessing good appreciation of both fundamental and applied research objectives.
- A passion for science and a thirst to learn more. You must be able to demonstrate the breadth of your interest in scientific research and technological developments, both within and beyond your speciality.
- The ability to read and assess the novelty, context and implications of research submitted to the journal from different areas of this discipline.
- Be eager to interact with scientists worldwide, learn more about them and their research, and help them learn more about us and what we are looking for in the papers we seek to publish.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be fluent in English (written and spoken).

The position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis (ideally starting August 2024), and will be located in our New York or Berlin offices, although requests for eventual placement in one of the other _Nature _editorial offices will be considered.

US Annualized Base Salary Range: Associate Editor: $74,000 / Senior Editor: $91,000. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education, skill level and equity. The US salary range does not align with the salary ranges in other countries when converted to the currency of that country.
