**Cleaning Supervisor**

**Location**:Quidenham, Norfolk

**Salary**:Up to £19,063.67 - £20,058.05 Actual salary depending on experience and qualifications based on a 35 hour week.

**Hours**:Up to 35 Hours per week

**Contract Type**:Permanent, 40 weeks per year

Our client has an exceptional school based in Quidenham, Norwich and are looking for a Cleaning Supervisor.

A dynamic independent school that supports young people aged 6-16 across a spilt site of Primary and Secondary education for young people who have experienced difficulties in mainstream settings, either as a result of specific learning difficulties or more complex communication and interaction difficulties (including those associated with autism.

**Main Purpose of the Role**:
The role of the Cleaning Supervisor is principally to ensure the school is cleaned to a consistently high standard by effective supervision and management of, and delegation to, the wider cleaning team. Thus providing a welcoming environment.

The support services teams are an essential pillar in enabling the children and young adults to achieve their full potential.

**Key Duties**:

- Daily cleaning of the agreed areas within the school, which include toilets, offices, classrooms, reception and communal areas.
- Undertaking line management duties for all the cleaning team including supervisions and appraisals.
- To use all equipment and materials in a safe way, making sure that students do not get hold of harmful substances whilst you are using them. This responsibility includes ensuring that everything is stored securely in the correct place after use.
- To use all materials in an effective and economic way.
- The school also undertakes functions and events throughout the year for which the housekeeping team will be required in the preparation of facilities.
- Carry out a variety of cleaning activities, including emergency cleaning of spillages.
- Deep cleaning of the school as scheduled.
- Monitoring of stock, suppliers and deliveries, including identification of cleaning equipment in need of replacement /repair
- Take part in training when required.
- To take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and that of others. This implies taking positive steps to understand the hazards in the workplace, to comply with safety rules and procedures and to ensure that nothing you do, or fail to do, puts yourself or others at risk.
- To keep any records required and make them available for inspection.
- Ensuring faults and maintenance issues within buildings are identified and reported for repair.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation as well as company policies and procedures.
- Following cleaning schedules and risk assessments.
- To carry out, as and when required, any additional tasks and responsibilities as required and within the scope and nature of the role.

**Knowledge, skills and experience**:

- Significant experience in a cleaning role, or a similar role in which hygiene standards need to be maintained.
- Previous experience of leading and managing a team is desirable.
- Experience of using equipment and materials in situations where care is needed to prevent harm to others.
- Key aspects of Health and Safety legislation for cleaning

**Requirements**:

- The role will require some lone working and physical work.
- To work effectively in situations where several tasks need doing in a short timescale and needs may change at short notice.
- Ability to manage time effectively to complete tasks to a high level.
- Ability to prioritise work.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- The ability to work both alone and within a team to achieve specified standards.
- Be flexible to changing demands of the post.
- Take pride in a job well done.
- Maintain positive relationships with students and staff whilst working in a busy environment to promote a friendly environment.
