Our unique learning platform, KBPro, connects academic theory with real-world, business-relevant content, setting us apart from other training providers. KnowledgeBrief delivers apprenticeships across the UK and this role will work alongside our team of Skills Coaches to provide remote Functional Skills delivery to learners that require L2 Maths or L2 English to complete their apprenticeship.

As a Team Leader of Functional Skills at KnowledgeBrief, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our learners excel in their Functional Skills. You will report to the Operations Manager to guarantee efficient and effective Functional Skills support, monitor learner progress, and collaborate closely with various teams to facilitate learner success. This role currently has no line management responsibility however, as we have embarked on an ambitious growth journey, we expect new members to join the team in 2024. Therefore, experience in line management is desirable.

**Responsibilities**:

- ** Effective Learner Progress**: Ensure that all learners requiring Functional Skills support are making significant progress and are challenged to achieve their Functional Skills well before their expected end date.
- **Pre-Program Guidance**: Provide support and information to potential learners and clients to clarify the expectations of attaining and achieving Functional Skills during their apprenticeship programme
- **Functional Skills Delivery**: Teach a variety of Functional Skills to apprentices, including remote group delivery, 1-to-1 intervention, and exam preparation.
- **Timely Placement**: Collaborate with Curriculum Team leads to ensure learners are placed on Functional Skills courses within 3 months of their start date.
- **Project Management**: Manage the MME platform, ensuring timely completion of activities, monitoring progress, and engagement of learners.
- **Exam Flexibility**: Collaborate with MME to ensure learners are registered for the correct qualification, and exams are flexible to meet learner and employer needs.
- **Data reporting**: collate accurate data reports on key areas such as achievement rates
- **Individualized Learning Plans**: Ensure all learners have Individualised Learning Plans for Functional Skills, identifying additional needs if required.
- **Timetable Management**: Schedule remote teaching sessions, and monitor attendance, and progress to ensure timely completion.
- **Risk management**: Work with the Operations Manager and Curriculum Team Leader to support interventions for learners at risk of not completing their apprenticeship due to Functional Skills
- **Quality Assurance**: Work with the Quality Manager to comply with ESFA contractual requirements, monitor adherence to procedures, and secure correct funding for all learners.
- **Training Plans**: Ensure the correct Functional Skills pathway is evidenced on apprentices' training plans, including monthly progress as per contractual requirements.
- **Quality Audits**: Collaborate with the Quality Manager to conduct Learning Walks and quality audits, mentor staff, and support team development for learners not requiring Functional Skills certificates.
- **Active Participation**: Proactively contribute to team meetings and events.
- **Record Keeping**: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records while adhering to data protection and confidentiality policies.
- **Process Improvement**: Continuously review and implement improvements in systems, processes, and procedures efficiently and effectively.

**Person specification
**Essential**:

- Teaching qualification - Level 5
- Minimum L3 or above in English/Maths
- Proven experience in delivering Functional Skills to adult learners
- A learner-centered approach
- Proven assessment skills including the ability to set individual targets
- Experience of developing and adapting curriculum
- Project management skills including setting objectives, tracking progress and ensuring timely completion Data management - proficiency in managing learner data and records and ensuring compliance with ESFA requirements

- Experience of remote teaching
- Experience of leading and managing a team
- Experience of working in the apprenticeship sector
- Knowledge of educational technology to enhance the learning experience
- Understanding of quality assurance processes and compliance requirements within the apprenticeship sector
