Mental Health Right Care, Right Person Lead.

Following the implementation of the Right Care, Right Person strategy, we have an opportunity to recruit 1 wte Band 8b Right Care, Right Person Lead for Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust.

We are looking for a capable, reliable, highly organised, warm, and dynamic registered healthcare professional who has previous experience of working at a strategic level and in managing complex multi-agency relationships and has extensive mental health clinical experience as well as extensive knowledge of the Mental Health Act. As the Right Care, Right Person Lead you will work closely with the Mental Health Urgent Care Services, with a specific focus on the Health based Place of Safety at Prospect Park Hospital, Thames Valley Police, Multi-Disciplinary Teams and Stakeholder providers to support the development of liaison across services to ensure comprehensive responses and processes for supporting patients to receive the appropriate care and response for their healthcare and social needs. We are keen to recruit a clinician with excellent presentation and communications skills and a proven track record of teaching and developing good working relationships across multiple services and settings.

Main duties of the role

Professionally support from a practice lead perspective the strategic overview of the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended by the 2007 act) and the Human Rights Act 1998 and be responsible for the operational development and strategic leadership of the Place of Safety and Thames Valley Police Mental Health Development and Liaison work across the Trust.

Ensure that our mental health Place of Safety consistently meets the requirements of broader legislation which impacts on the MHA, the MHA Code of Practice. The post holder will be an expert resource and source of advice to the Trust, clinicians and other professionals, patients, and relatives as required.

Analyse and interpret highly complex health and social care related enacted proposed legislation, Children's Legislation, and any case -law and associated guidance, and legal commentary to consider and advise on the potential impacts for patients and the trust, taking appropriate action where necessary.

Registered Healthcare Professional (e.g. RMN, S/W)

Extensive previous experience of managing a complex mental health caseload in the community.

Previous experience of teaching and facilitating workshops.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to use these both on the ward and in other internal/ external forums and situations.
