Common Thread is a Scottish residential childcare provider. The company was founded by Julie Joseph in 2004 with the mission to lead in the creation and provision of innovative healing environments for children and young people who have been hurt by trauma, abuse, and neglect. Young people are our primary focus, and this belief is shared by all staff members, carers, and support workers.
As a skilled Recruitment Assistant you will have a working knowledge of HR best practices and be able to bring innovative ideas on how to attract the best talent to the organisation. You will have great communication skills and be a confident networker who brings creativity and innovation to the task of talent attraction. You will be highly organised and demonstrate a track record of completing projects in a timely manner.
Your primary responsibility will be to effectively manage our full recruitment cycle, ensuring that we consistently meet our staff requirements and acquire top talent for our organisation.
**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Design and implement a strategy for recruitment, looking at the current and future needs of the company;
- Consult with managers to identify their staff requirements and the specific post objectives;
- Research and choose job advertising options;
- Identify new and effective recruitment sources (social recruiting and Boolean searches);
- Write and post job descriptions on generic and specialist career websites, newspapers and university/college boards as required;
- Arrange and facilitate phone, Skype and/or in-person interviews as required;
- Take advice on best interview practice (and ensure interviewers are adopting these)
- Contact new employees and prepare onboarding sessions;
- Prepare new hire paperwork ensuring legislation requirements are met;
- Maintain a complete record of interviews and new hires;
- Track recruiting metrics (time to fill, cost to hire etc)
- Stay up-to-date with current recruiting methods;
- Attend job fairs and careers events;
- Organise and host company recruitment events;
- Recommend ways to improve our employer brand and reputation;
- In collaboration with marketing colleagues, feedback on ways to improve our employer brand and reputation and help develop promotional materials to support the recruitment effort;
- Build professional networks to attract potential employees, including local schools and colleges; and
**Requirements and Skills**:

- Proven work experience as a Recruiting Assistant or in a recruitment role;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to work well as a team member;
- Ability to prioritise and complete projects within short deadlines;

**Salary**: £23,500.00-£26,500.00 per year
