**Class 1 & Class 2 Driver**
Barrett Steel Dartford is the newest depot in the Barrett Steel Limited portfolio of UK wide depots. Recently purchased and integrated into the group network Dartford is perfectly located to serve the South East of England and London. **All About the Role**
The purpose of this role is to carry out driving & related duties involved with the carriage of goods within a defined geographical area. The hours are Monday to Friday 5.30am - 4.15pm plus overtime when required.
**Class 1 & Class 2 Driver Responsibilities**:

- To oversee the safe unloading of vehicles at customer premises.
- Ensuring Proofs of Delivery are signed & returned without delay.
- To check the load security & weight distribution according to latest safe working practices at the beginning and end of each shift.
- To ensure that the delivery vehicles are always maintained to Company standards in terms of reporting of any defects to the vehicle.
- Ensures vehicles are in safe condition, with daily checks correctly completed before use & are operated in a safe manner.
**Class 1 & Class 2 Driver Requirements**:

- To hold a valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 Licence (with no more than 6 points)
- Own a Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph card
- Knowledge of working time directive
- Previous experience in a warehousing or distribution business - ideal but not necessary
- Understanding and experience of EHS requirements
- Multi-Drop experience - Ideal

Class 2 £34,475 per annum
