**Role Description**

The Food Technologist / Quality Assurance Specialist is a full-time on-site role located in Evesham.

The role involves conducting internal audits, training staff, resolving quality and technical issues occurring in production, supporting customer service teams, and liaising with various teams to improve technical processes.

This role is responsible for conducting internal audits, coordinating external audits, ensuring certifications and relevant paperwork are prepared, and maintaining quality and technical documents. This role is mainly office based, however completion of various tasks requires factory presence.

There is a team of Factory based QAs that are managed by Production Managers, however they report to both Technical and Production Management. This role is based within Technical Department, and not the factory.

**This role offers the possibility of a job progression to become a Quality Assurance/Technical Manager.**

**Qualifications**

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Technical support experience, preferably in the food industry

Strong customer service skills

Proficient in information technology, specifically with administrative software

Red Tractor, Tesco Nurture and BRCGS accreditation experience is a plus

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

**Duties**

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Food Technologist to join our team.

- To devise and maintain a central resource library for company Technical Food Safety documentation.
- Perform shelf-life studies for customer and regulatory requirements
- Develop weekly, monthly and yearly reports for trend analysis to ensure facilities stay within safe operating parameters
- Responsible for the training of all employees in the food safety, GMP, security, and allergen systems that are in place. (this is shared responsibility with other staff member)
- Involved in the development, implementation, maintenance, and changes of the company HACCP program and the company SQF System
- Involved in the development, implementation, maintenance and changes of company QA program.
- Involved in the development and implementation of company SOPs, SSOPs, GMPs and Food Security programs.
- Responsible for putting products on hold, and rejecting products at receiving that don’t meet company standards.
- Part of the crisis management team and spearheading any recall initiatives when deputising the Head of Technical
- Involved in the development, implementation, and maintenance of all 3rd party audit material as well as direct results of those audits.
- Perform sanitation and quality audits of all facilities daily on walk-throughs.
- Involved in resolutions of customer complaints, and the trending of complaints and leads the investigations into the source of the complaints.
- Provide technical assistance to production, purchasing, and sales.
