Operator - Fitter

Job Introduction
Opportunities are available for two Operator’s (Fitting) based at Church Village.

As an Operator you will assist a Craftsperson with general site work associated with the repair, maintenance and construction of plant and switchgear up to 66kV.

Some electrical experience would be an advantage, however full training will be given.

Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.

If you are offered a position, you will be required to successfully complete a basic DBS check that shows any unspent convictions or conditional cautions.

Main Responsibilities
You will be required to undertake substation inspections, drive HGV generator and carry out equipment inspections and testing.

The work involves being away from the depot, normally working in a team of two people. The environment requires you to be able to react quickly, decisively and responsibly.

You will need to be mobile throughout the area as you may also be required to undertake out of hours standby duties, therefore a full driving license is required. Holding a HGV license would be beneficial.

Please note, where job roles involve working at height and the use of Personal Fall Protection Equipment, there are restrictions on the maximum weight of the individual.
