Corporate & Institutional Coverage (‘CIC’) is the client coverage business within Commercial and Institutional Banking ('CIB') operating across the UK and North America and looks after the overall management of businesses whose annual turnover exceeds £100m. CIC consists of many different sector Teams.

The Insurance team is one of the leading providers of commercial banking products to the global insurance sector. Our team, operating in London and New York, holds extensive relationships with the senior management teams of insurers and insurance brokers across the UK, Europe, Bermuda and North America.

The team are multi-disciplined, with our clients using the full suite of commercial banking products ranging from complex loan financings and Debt Capital Markets issuances to letters of credit and hedging. We seek to support our team members and offer opportunities for all colleagues to develop.

The Insurance team is an important part of LBG’s offering to the broader Financial Services sector and a key contributor to the Corporate & Institutional Coverage business.

Upon joining the team you'll become integral in supporting the team achieve its strategy. We strive to grow the Insurance business by building strong sustainable relationships, allowing us to improve and grow income generation whilst effectively managing risk. Key to this is developing LBG’s profile in the market to attract new business and improve relationships with existing clients.

Key Accountabilities:

- Support a designated portfolio of client relationships. Identify and satisfy client needs in the most appropriate way whilst meeting our credit, conduct and commercial requirements.
- Collaborate closely with product and delivery partners across the Bank to market the full range of the Bank’s products to clients.
- Extensive involvement in lending transactions from initial identification through to negotiation, credit approvals and execution.
- Explore ways to meet client requirements and find opportunities to develop further income, recommending and implementing the appropriate solutions.
- Support the client interface on behalf of the Group and other interested parties ensuring enquiries and issues are satisfactorily resolved.
- Observe conduct, market and other relevant risk processes and procedures. This includes management of Material Non-Public Information (MNPI) and associated policies.
- Prepare and present responses to invitations to tender for new and existing business, collaborating closely with product partners.
- Support and develop business leads and introductions, as appropriate, improving business growth for the Group.
- Over time, develop an external network of professionals practising in the insurance industry who can assist the Bank in developing its business.
- Lead any changes to Bank policies, systems, processes and working practices to achieve operational improvements.
- Scope, review, negotiate and implement legal and other documentation ensuring compliance with credit sanction, Bank and Regulatory policy to minimise risk.
- Review management information in order to provide reports for senior management to monitor profitability and control risk.
