We have an exciting opportunity for you, we are looking for a SPAR Store Assistant Manager who is motivated, friendly, hands-on, and very excited about being an important part of a small team, learning whilst working to ensure our SPAR store offers excellent service and standards to our customers. **Key Tasks/Responsibilities**:

- To deliver customer service in line with SPARkling Service standards
- To be fully aware of Key Result Areas (KRA's) and assist in working to deliver and improve them.
- To assist in generating ideas for driving the business and its team forward
- To assist in developing a motivated and empowered team through a positive management style
- To assist in ensuring training is delivered as scheduled
- To use relevant processes and policies to control the security of people, stock, and cash
- To assist in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and health and food safety responsibilities as defined in the induction and training

**Assistant Store Manager Requirements**:

- Previous junior experience at a supervisory or managerial level in a food retail environment (or similar) (essential)
- APLH (Award for Personal License Holder) - must have or be prepared to undertake this qualification
- A basic understanding of budgets and targets and the ability to work to deliver and improve them (essential)
- Basic knowledge of health and food safety and legislative responsibilities of a retail environment and the skill to manage those responsibilities
- Experience of managing a Challenge 25 policy

**Location**: Newport, Gwent
**Contract type**: Permanent
**Hours**: Full or part time available - Full time = 40+ Hour's p/w (Various shifts)
**Shift Pattern**: Various shifts between 7am and 11pm inc some evenings & weekends
**Salary**: c£22k p/a, with potential to earn Assistant Managers Bonus (Pro rata if part time)
