**JOB PURPOSE**

To assist the SENDCo with all the administration of the Learning Support Faculty for any student on the SEND register enabling the team to provide comprehensive support to students and staff to ensure successful teaching and learning takes place across the school. The postholder will be expected to work closely with the SENDCo and to take an active interest in the wider aspects of Learning Support and Inclusion within the school.

**2. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

Assisting the SENDCo with the administration around identification, assessment, provision and multi-agency working for all students with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities, ensuring the school meets its statutory duty as outlined in EHCPs and the Special Educational Needs Local Offer.

To assist with the smooth day-to-day running of the Department e.g. support of administration tasks and timetabling of the TAs. To liaise with staff, parents, external agencies and other schools to coordinate their contribution, provide maximum support and ensure continuity of provision for students.

Managing and deploying available resources, under direction from the SENDCo ensuring that they are used efficiently, effectively and safely. You will organise rotas for in class support and ensure all paperwork relating to EHCPs and Student Information Sheets are updated and shared with appropriate staff.

Initiate paperwork to refer students to the appropriate external agencies for further support on the direction of the SENDCo.

Supporting with the planning of, in consultation with the SENDCo, intervention groups and in-class /examination support strategies for students with additional needs

Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the SENDCo.

The detail of the duties will be determined following consultation with the post-holder.

The School operates a no smoking policy on site.

**3. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Experience of working in a school environment
- Evidence of commitment to personal CPD
- Knowledge and understanding of SEND and best practice in its support is desirable but full training will be given

**4. Physical Effort**

The postholder may be expected to undertake bending, stretching and lifting in the course of their duties e.g. Preparing the classroom, displaying pupils work, assist pupils during lesson times, engaging in activities led by the teacher.
