**Role Purpose**:
As an Enquiry Desk Assistant, you will be dealing with enquires from members of the Public who come into the Police Station or contact the Station. You will carry out clerical and administrative duties and maintain enquiry desk records.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Accept and record items of property and cash handed in by members of the public.
- Responsibility for security of access through the public reception area.
- Receiving monies paid in at the Police Station.
- Reporting persons for minor offences and completed documentation.
- Dealing with Vehicle Seizure process.
- Taking initial reports of crimes and road traffic accidents.
- Use several bespoke computer systems.
- Operation of public address system.

**Skills and experience**:

- Experience of dealing with face-to-face enquiries from members of the public.
- Experience of using computer packages including MS Word, Excel.
- Previous clerical experience.
- Able to work shifts and weekends.
- Ability to travel and work at different sites.
- Able to work overtime and bank holidays as and when require.

Fixed: This is a traditional arrangement, applicable when the work is mostly required to be undertaken at a fixed single place of work (on police premises) for most of the time. The work can only or is more effectively delivered from a police premises or other agreed organisational/partner premises.
