We are looking for a confident, reliable and well presented individual to join our phlebotomy team

The collection of quality blood samples from patients is a vital stage in many medical investigations.

We offer a phlebotomy service in a range of locations across North Midlands including Royal Stoke Hospital, County Hospital, community walk-in centres and community bookable clinics.

Based at Royal Stoke University Hospital, the successful applicant will be an integral part of the phlebotomy rota and expected to provide day to day supervision of the phlebotomy team in all of the above locations. You will also be expected to deputise for the Phlebotomy Manager when necessary.

Experience in all phlebotomy techniques is essential. Previous supervisory experience would be considered an advantage.

The successful applicant must enjoy working with people and possess good communication skills. Attention to detail is important along with basic key board skills.

It is a requirement of your role that you have access to a vehicle for work purposes, which must be suitable for travelling to community phlebotomy clinics and transporting samples back to the hospital premises. It is your responsibility to ensure that the vehicle is insured for class 1 business use and for the transportation of pathology samples. Expenses will be paid in accordance with Trust policy when you use your vehicle for work purposes.

Hours of work are Monday - Friday between 8am - 5pm

Post is part time 32 hours or 16 hours per week

with the requirement to cover a late clinic until 7pm approximately once every 4 weeks
