Full Job Description

We are looking for a fitter to join our existing engineering team carrying our inspections and repairs on our modern fleet of coaches and buses. As a fitter, you’ll be directly responsible for the ensuring that inspections and repairs are carried to a high standard. You will also be involved in the diagnosis of faults and their repair. You’ll be expected to have technical and practical competency when it comes to the inspection, repair and maintenance of PSV’s, and you must be able to effectively communicate at all levels on a written and verbal basis. You should be flexible enough to adapt to new processes and develop new skills when required and participate in training and development activities. We’ll also expect you to be an active member of our busy team, while being competent enough to develop new working processes, or to enhance current ones.

Key Responsibilities
- Work on the period safety inspection regime to ensure our vehicles are fully roadworthy at all times.
- To carry fault diagnosis and repairs, as well as MOT preparation.
- Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures, safely and responsibly
- Use the simple maintenance software package to record work completed
- Keep all workshop facilities, equipment and tools clean, tidy and well maintained
- Wear personal protective equipment when appropriate
- Support the development of young trainees and apprentices Qualifications and Experience
- Recognised engineering qualification such as Level 3 PSV City and Guilds/ NVQ3 or an equivalent.
- Previous experience as a qualified Fitter/Mechanic/Engineer
- Working knowledge of all daily site procedures, engineering processes, health and safety regulations, DVSA standards
- Basic IT skills

**Salary**: £30,000.00 per year
