The Theatres Scan4Safety Operative is an essential support role, helping to provide patient care at our new state-of-the-art hospital, Midland Metropolitan University Hospital. The post-holder will help manage sterile supplies, stores and any other equipment required for theatres. The postholder will be responsible for communicating with teams and ordering and receiving goods into the Theatres Department.

Supporting the Theatres Scan4Safety Coordinator, the Theatres Scan4Safety Operative will assist with the provision of the Scan for Safety (S4S) programme with responsibilities related to ensuring that sterile supplies, stores and any other equipment required for theatrea are ordered and received into the theatre department and thus assist in the smooth running of operating lists.

Keeping a detailed register of equipment, maintaining a safe and clean working area, communicating with stakeholders and helping to coordinate deliveries from the outsourced sterile services provider are all essential aspects of the role.

The Trust is on a journey to implement a full Scan4Safety (S4S) programme and the postholder will perform an important role in helping the Turst to realise this vision. The postholder will support the roll out and implementation of new projects and work with the new inventory management system and POC system functionality across the Trust where required.

The Scan4Safety Theatres Operative will assist in preparing and maintaining the theatre environment, ensuring clean theatre, equipment & transfer devices and e nsure adequate stock levels of medical gases

The postholder will work with various stakeholders, including theatres managers, to identify the stock and stock levels required to for the theatres operating lists.

Communication with the outsourced supplier is an essential part of the role to ensure that sterile instruments are ordered & delivered to the appropriate theatre areas

All requests should be tracked and an effective register kept and loan equipment must be organised where required.

Drill blades

Theatre soft pack orders

Lotions
