Banksman

_Do you have experience as a Banksman managing on-site traffic and overseeing the loading and unloading of containers and curtain siders?_

**Overview of the role**:
As a Banksman you will be responsible for directing and coordinating the movement of vehicles and equipment onsite, guiding drivers and operators to ensure safe and efficient manoeuvring of vehicles, liaising with the Weighbridge and overseeing the loading and unloading of containers and curtain siders.

**Hours**:Monday - Friday (40 hrs week). 8 hr shifts.

**Salary**:£11.08 - £11.62 per hour

**What we’ll need from you**:
You must
- Have proven experience as a Banksman or in a similar role directing and managing on site traffic.
- Have knowledge of traffic management regulations and safety procedures.
- Have an understanding and awareness of Weighbridge operations
- Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
- Have the ability to effectively direct and coordinate the movement of vehicles and equipment.
- Have strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
- Have the physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and work in various weather conditions
- Have awareness and understanding of Health & safety procedures on an industrial site.

**What you’ll be doing as a Banksman**

The main tasks of this role include, but are not limited to:

- Directing and coordinating the movement of vehicles and equipment around the site
- Guiding drivers and operators to ensure safe and efficient manoeuvring of vehicles and equipment.
- Conducting regular checks on traffic routes
- Providing temporary cover for the weighbridge operator when required.
- Using hand signals, two-way radios, or other communication devices to communicate with drivers and Weighbridge operators to understand inbound and outbound material.
- Ensuring that vehicles and equipment are properly positioned for loading, unloading, or other operations.
- Monitoring the surrounding area for potential hazards and taking necessary precautions to prevent accidents.
- Assisting in the implementation of safety protocols and procedures on the work site.
- Ensuring the company’s environmental policies and procedures are adhered to
- Ensuring Health & safety regulations are adhered to
- Cleaning of yard to maintain an efficient site.
- Any other reasonable task as directed by the Manager.
