The Role

Appointments are normally made within 4 - 8 weeks of the closing date.

What you’ll do
- **Projects**: Use project management best-practices and development of sound relationships to manage multiple projects, their stakeholders, external legal experts, patent agents and consultants plus project team members to ensure all commercialisation activities are completed on time and on budget.
- **Finance**: Responsible for up-to-date financial management, documentation, and timely reporting of the IP portfolio and other commercial income.
- **Commercial Development**: Work with the partnership and business development team to commercialise the university’s IP, manage and grow the value and impact of the university’s IP portfolio.
- **Intellectual Property (IP) Management**: Work with the Commercial Manager to draft and advise on IP and contractual agreements with internal and external clients, including confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements, licenses, revenue sharing agreements, assignments etc.
- **Other**: To undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post. Any other reasonable duties requested commensurate with the grade of this role.

Who you are - Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills required

**Essential**
- Proven track record of following organizational policies and documenting procedures when managing budgets, procurement, and financial administration. Experience in the HE sector is considered an asset.
- The ability to translate and disseminate complex information related to intellectual property and commercial or legal arrangements, in way that motivate and informs team members, stakeholders and partners.
- Ability to lead others, internally and externally with a knowledge of Intellectual property processes and policies as well as the legal implications of the terms of engagement and how this would impact the university.
- An ability to understand the bilingual nature of the University and an awareness of the procedures in place to support working bilingually.

**Desirable**
- Oral (spoken) and Written Welsh Level A2.*
