Bike Maintenance Instructor

**Role of the freelancer**
The bike maintenance freelancer will facilitate the delivery of bike maintenance based activities within the SHP Sport Team. To start off with this will be in the form of a 1-2 hour session a week at one of our hostels in Westminster

It will involve teaching small groups or individuals how to build up a bike from old bike parts, and how to maintain it. There will also be a large emphasis on the social aspect of the sessions, as it is a target group that often experiences loneliness and social isolation. Therefore the role will involve facilitating a space that encourages conversation and a fun environment.

The bike mechanic freelancer will explore a wide range of skill-based activities and provide safe, inclusive ways for people to improve their physical and mental health, build confidence, and positive relationships.

**Requirements**:

- Bike maintenance qualification (or relevant experience)
- Ideally some experience working with the target group (or similar group)
- Available to work daytime on weekdays, between the hours of 10am-4pm.
- Good social skills, warm, approachable and encouraging.
- Engaging and able to motivate people to get involved.
- DBS (this will be funded by SHP)

**Salary**: £22.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
