**What you’ll be doing**:

- As Head of Supply Chain Business Improvement, you will have the responsibility for leading the development and implementation of the Naval Ships Supply Chain business transformational activities which are focused on delivering a step change across our end 2 end Supply Chain operating model, processes and systems. This is in support of our business targets to reduce cost, improve efficiency and fully enable our ship build programmes across an international landscape.
- Work with our Global Combat Ship Industry Partners located in Canada & Australia to identify and implement best practise across the GCS enterprise and ensure lessons learned and experiences are shared and transferred.
- Deliver all SC programme and functional transformational activities and act as point of integration for these across the BAE Maritime Sector and Corporation.
- Review existing key “as is” supply chain systems and processes, benchmarking these across internal and external environments and implement optimum future management solutions to allow successful delivery of our Type 26 Frigate 8 ship programme.
- Review existing supply solutions and material flows to identify and lead the implementation of improvements focused on increasing the level’s of production enablement throughout our shipbuild programme.
- Work with the Supply Chain Function and other senior business stakeholders to develop an implementation strategy inclusive of operating framework, organisation structure and supporting processes for a business Strategic Supplier Management capability responsible for driving high performing and sustainable supplier relationships, mitigating key supplier risks and ensuring the adoption of strategic cost management principles throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Responsible for internal and external communication at senior level, representing areas at board level within Naval Ships and acting as the customer to the Managing Directors of other major manufacturing companies.
- Ensure that the processes in place to manage suppliers and record their performance are understood by the function. Support the relevant forums that take place with suppliers and the wider business to maintain a continuous improvement ethos.

**Your skills and experiences**:

- MCIPS or equivalent qualification required
- A strong track record of driving business improvement and efficiency
- A strong track record of leadership, managing high performing professional team and developing talent in an inclusive environment
- Extensive experience, preferably in defence or engineering and managing end to end Supply Chain and procurement on complex programmes
- Proven experience of collaboratively working as part of senior multi-functional team, including Engineering and Project Management/Controls Management with experience of projects change and associated implications & negotiations
- Successfully working & collaborating in a complex programme environments across international sectors with many senior Customer, Prime Contractor & supplier stakeholders

**The Maritime Naval team**:
We design and manufacture a range of naval ships, giving customers the capability to fulfil extensive naval operations. Latest Type 26 frigates being built for the UK Royal Navy and latest equipment procured for the Australian Hunter Class and Canadian Surface Combatant.

Head of Supply will engage with key stakeholders to capture, verify and agree ongoing procurement and logistics business requirements and will work closely with the global combat ship organisation and manage wide range high value and large scale contracts.
