London, United Kingdom Macmillan Cancer Support Full time

**Fixed Term Contract (6 months) with possible extension**

**Full time (34.5 hours), we are open to a conversation about how you work these hours.**

**Location: split between home and our London office (Vauxhall). At least 1 day a week in the office, but open to flexibility.**

**Salary Range - £25,500- £28,500**

**Would you like to join our Stories and Voices team, help tell powerful stories, and manage our library of extraordinary storytellers? If so, this opportunity could be for you**

**About the role**

This is an extremely important role in a busy Stories and Voices team. The real life experiences of people living with, and affected by, cancer are needed more and more by teams all across Macmillan, and we need to make sure we have a diverse pool of storytellers who feel supported and empowered to share their stories in different ways.

The Stories and Voices Coordinator role is vital in helping make this happen.

You’ll be acting as the first point of contact for all general story enquiries at Macmillan, ensuring the highest level of care, and working with teams across the organisation to make sure best practice story gathering is happening.

Understanding of and attention to the nuances/unique qualities of people’s stories is essential as well as confidence in dealing with often very personal and sometimes difficult issues.

You’ll become one of the guardians of The Library, our central database of stories, photography and video. This will involve dealing with permissions for use of stories that are requested, but also making sure that all assets are up to date and comply with data protection (GDPR). There will also be a need for uploading new stories to the database with consistency and accuracy.

In addition, there be an opportunity for you to take part in story gathering, identifying and interviewing storytellers about their experiences.

This role works closely with colleagues in External Communications & Engagement, Content, Social Media, Fundraising, Marketing, and Brand.

**About you**

We’d love to work with someone who:

- Has excellent organisational, prioritisation and administrative skills, and an ability to work to tight deadlines when needed
- Feels confident and has empathy when dealing with often very personal and sometimes sensitive situations.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop working relations and build trust quickly with internal and external stakeholders
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Has an understanding of the importance of data protection and confidentiality

**About us**

Our values are at the heart of who we are and everything we do, inspiring our thinking and guiding our actions. We strive to build a more diverse organisation, where everyone feels empowered to be their best self to work.

We are striving to do everything we can to ensure that our workforce is representative of the people we support, and those who support us. We advocate for being an inclusive organisation, where everyone can feel that they belong and where there are no barriers to success.

We want every individual to feel empowered to bring their best to work. That’s why we offer a range of flexible working patterns, such as compressed hours and flexibility to work earlier or later around our core working hours of 10am-4pm. We welcome a conversation about how these options can best support you.

**Recruitment Process**

Application deadline is Tuesday 8th August at 23:59.
