Catering Assistant

Coxlease School are recruiting for a Catering Assistant to join their catering team We are looking for passionate people, who can support the provision of the catering operation, assisting with basic food preparation and hygiene. You will promote healthy eating and contribute to the wellbeing of our children and young people. In this role, you will, take responsibly for parts of the catering operation, ensure the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the Company's Assured Safe Catering Policies and Procedures and assist the Chef with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with these.

Coxlease School, located in the heart of the New Forest in Lyndhurst, is a specialised independent school for children aged 9 to 18 with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and other related conditions/needs. With a highly experienced team of staff and therapists, Coxlease School provides a nurturing and supportive environment where students can develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
**Previous experience preparing and cooking meals gained within a professional kitchen environment desired but not essential, along with the following characteristics**:
**Communication** Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.
**Organisation** You will need to be confident and organised in updating menus, dietary requirements and reporting information that will be relevant to the care of our young people.
**Attentive** No young person is the same so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.
