We are looking for a dynamic, kind, and motivated staff to join our outpatient nursing team. As part of this role you will support the nursing team in running of outpatient clinics across multiple departments within Evelina Children's Hospital. We will support you in completing your care certificate and any professional development needs you require. Your main responsibilities, will include but are not limited to measuring height & weight, observations, stock management, and facilitating clinics.

We welcome applicants with customer care experience or health and social care experience with families either within the NHS or other environments. If you have not worked in a healthcare setting before, we will support you to transfer and develop your skills, knowledge and passion to flourish, and fulfil the responsibilities in this role. Communication, kindness and compassion are really important attributes in this role and you will be supported to develop your skills within experienced nursing teams.

You should be highly motivated with excellent communication skills and enjoy working with people in a positive, energetic - and at times demanding - environment delivering care for children and families.

Provide excellent customer care skills to ensure patients come first.

Undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties to deliver agreed plans of care, acting on own initiative.

Ensure that patients receive high quality clinical care and a good patient experience, having regard for their customs, religious beliefs and doctrines.

Recognise and avoid situations that may be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of the individuals.

Act as an advocate for patients within the department, to ensure a patient orientated approach to the delivery of care and to meet standards within the NHS Plan and other relevant guidelines.

Provide support and assistance to professionals in the implementation of plans of care for individual patients.

Assist with fluid and dietary needs of patients including completion of menu cards and recording intake and output of fluids and solids.

Collect specimens from patients, as directed, and record routine observations of weight, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiratory rate. Report any abnormalities and concerns to a Registered Nurse.

Recognise when patients are in pain and discomfort and report to nurse in charge.

Undertake venepuncture/cannulation when requested by a healthcare professional.

Respond appropriately to clinical emergencies to ensure the patient receives appropriate care.
