Manchester, United Kingdom The University of Manchester Full time

Applicants are invited for the post of Research Assistant to work in the laboratories of Prof. Graham Lord and Prof. Mark Travis at the University of Manchester. The post funds a position as part of a collaborative project, funded by the Helmsley Trust, to identify how novel treatments for Crohn’s Disease act in humans. Specifically, patient samples from individuals before and after receiving regulatory T cells, a special type of suppressive immune cell, will be analysed using extensive multiomic techniques (both single cell and spatial technologies) to determine Treg-mediated effects, and how this correlates with clinical outcome in the patient.

The main roles of the successful applicant will be to help coordinate clinical sample preparation for single cell analysis, and aid in processing and interpretation of data arising from these analyses. They will have a BSc or equivalent in a relevant discipline, and previous research experience in immunology is preferable. They should also have good data curation skills, and good communication skills.
