Crematorium Manager

**Do you have the special qualities required to be the Manager of Hitchin's crematorium and memorial park?**

This multifaceted job requires a range of personal attributes and business acumen as your role requires you to multitask across a range of staff management, business management, and practical activities associated with the smooth, professional running ofthe Crematorium facility.

You will be joining an established, collaborative team and working for a reputable organisation who pride themselves on high industry standards and exceptional service, both to customers, suppliers and external stakeholders (such as medical professionalsand funeral directors).

**We emphasise, this is an active / practical hands-on role that will include office managerial work, assisting with funerals both front of house, the process side behind the scenes and the running and upkeep of the overall facility and its grounds.**

Previous industry experience is not required as full training in regulations, compliance and the cremation process will be provided. However, we are looking for:

- A minimum of 3 years previous business management experience
- Experience in a role that adhered to processes, standards and ideally, regulations
- High competence with MS packages and aptitude to learning a bespoke system
- Accounting experience
- A compassionate customer service manner
- A collaborative leader and team person

A requisite for this post is that job holders must be of a height and strength to permit them to shoulder a coffin as part of a 4-person team during services, for occasions you may be called on to assist.
- Contracted hours are 40 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday, however additional Saturday morning services are bookable and are facilitated with a reduced team, for which you will take your share in participating.
- Over time is available by payment or time off in lieu.
- You will have the opportunity to earn an annual bonus if your location over performs against target, and additional bonus on memorial sales.
- Annual leave at 20 days + bank holidays
