**Cheshire East Highways oversees the management of an extensive 2700km highway network, committed to upholding the utmost standard of service across the Cheshire East region while providing exceptional value to residents and businesses alike. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Network Co-ordination Team leader to bolster the efforts of our NRSWA/TMA inspectors. Together, we ensure rigorous adherence to the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) 1991, the Traffic Management Act (TMA) 2004, and all relevant Codes of Practice, safeguarding the integrity of Cheshire East's highway infrastructure.**

**The Role**

- **Support the Network Management Team Leader in overseeing the inspection regime and related activities of the Network Management NRSWA/TMA Inspectors while also performing the day to day duties of a NRSWA/TMA Inspector all associated activities are completed within the parameters set by the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA), and the Highway Maintenance Act 1980.**:

- **Act as a further point of contact for enquiries or complaints in relation to activities taking place on the Network.**:

- **To attend site meetings and assist in facilitating major schemes across the Cheshire East Highways network area. To take a lead in supporting Statutory undertakers in delivering their works package with a view to creating mínimal impact to the Network.**:

- **Support the Network Management Team Leaders in providing for job shadowing for new and existing team members as required.

**About You**

***
- **Knowledge of, and experience in, the maintenance, design and implementation of highway schemes including statutory processes, such as NRSWA 1991.**:

- **Knowledge of and experience in use of construction materials used in highways. Appropriate knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation including Safety at Streetworks and Roadworks: Code of Practice 2013 “The Red Book” and Chapter 8.**:

- **Knowledge of Highway Authority and Local Government policies, practices, and procedures in relation to highways maintenance, including Health and Safety Legislation as it affects works on the highway including Construction, Design and Management Regulations and traffic management.**:

- **Experience in dealing with utility company contractors and civil engineering contractors**:

- **Experience working within a Local Authority environment
