Baker Hughes Process & Pipeline Services (PPS) supports the full lifecycle of customers' asset from pre-commissioning to decommissioning. We help to reduce future corrosion, improve efficiency and maximize throughput. Our engineered solutions for commissioning, and maintenance shutdowns include specialized services for the oil and gas, power generation, metals and mining.

The Pipeline Technical Supervisor is responsible to provide primary checking and verification tasks on engineering documentation. Using the Baker Hughes standard practices and policies reporting to the Engineering Coordinator. They hold trainer and assessor qualifications for the relevant services, and provide a link to Applications Engineering for field Engineers.

As a Pipeline Technical Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

- Verifying, checking and approval of engineering documents in accordance with Baker Hughes, Customer and Legal requirements.
- Implementing global standard practices for our pipeline services, including SOPs, templates, procedures, forms and drawings.
- Being the first technical point of call for field engineers technical support and managing requests to Applications Engineering.
- Supporting Applications Engineering searching, reviewing various sections of the Engineering Manual.
- Writing of Engineering Procedures.
- Acting as trainer and assessor for engineering courses and engineering WPA’s.
- Developing equipment specifications and standards for pipeline services.
- Providing technical support in the broader array of services offered by PPS globally including process services.
- Developing a structured plan for the support of specific services within the product line, identifying priorities and urgent requirements.
- Providing technical support to both QA and HSE for incidents in the pipeline side of our business
- Performing other assigned duties as required.
- Covering tasks in the Personnel Team for holiday and sick leave cover.

To be successful in this role you will:

- Have a Bachelor's in engineering or science from an accredited educational institute or college or equivalent knowledge or experience.
- Have significant experience in an engineering position in PPS services with a focus on pipeline services.
- Have excellent oral, written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Have the ability to influence others and lead small teams.
- Be a self-starter able to work on own initiative.
- Have the ability to lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
- Have the ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrate Effective problem identification and solution skills. Proven analytical and organisational ability.
- Have software programming skills an advantage.
