Vacancy Description

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children
and young people with special educational needs? Do you have experience
in coordinating and managing Education, Health and Care (EHC)
assessments? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join West
Berkshire Council as an EHC Assessment Co-ordinator.

As an EHC Assessment Co-ordinator, you will play a crucial role in
supporting the Principal SEN Manager in the Education Services Service.
You will be responsible for the coordination and administration of EHC
assessments, ensuring that they are carried out in a timely and efficient manner. Your key responsibilities will include:

- Liaising with schools, parents, and other relevant professionals to gather
information for EHC assessments
- Coordinating multi-agency meetings and ensuring that all relevant parties
are involved
- Writing high-quality EHC assessment reports, making clear and evidencebased recommendations
- Providing advice and guidance to schools, parents, and other stakeholders
on the EHC assessment process

To excel in this role, you should have:

- A thorough understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant
legislation
- Experience in coordinating and managing EHC assessments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build
positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work
effectively in a fast-paced environment
- A commitment to promoting inclusion and ensuring the best possible
outcomes for children and young people with SEND
