**JOB OVERVIEW**

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Laboratory Analyst / Lab Assistant with excellent practical and organisational skills and the ability to demonstrate a sharp mental awareness and attention to detail.

Working as a Laboratory Analyst / Lab Assistant you will be required to perform analytical and non-analytical procedures necessary for the day to day running of the laboratory.

As a Laboratory Analyst / Lab Assistant you will assist in the efficient and effective throughput of samples on a daily basis and maintain all laboratory equipment, including calibrations and quality control.

**DUTIES**

Your duties as a Laboratory Analyst / Lab Assistant will include:

- Assist in the efficient and effective throughput of samples on a daily basis
- Perform analytical test procedures according to Standard Operating Procedures and in line with analytical quality control guidelines
- Maintain equipment, including calibrations and quality control
- Process biological specimens, including data entry
- Trouble shooting equipment and process failures
- Raising non-conformances, planned deviations, changes, risks and improvements as required
- Handling customer enquiries and liaising with suppliers
- Monitor stock levels of reagents and other consumables and raising purchase orders
- Adhere to Health & Safety procedures to ensure safety of all staff
- Adhere to company policies and business systems manuals
- Assist with audits as required
- Produce statistical data as required

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**
- Demonstration of a sharp mental awareness and attention to detail
- Excellent practical skills
- Computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge within the medical field would be an advantage
- Highly motivated and dependable
- Team worker with good organisational skills
- Ability to effectively use own initiative
- Clear and effective communicator
- Flexible
