**Role Overview**
This role sits within the Global Markets Conduct Risk area in Citi Belfast. The role will support and drive where appropriate the implementation of market abuse controls within the Transaction Monitoring team as part of the Markets Trading Businesses (1st Lineof Defence).
**Key responsibilities**:

- Support scoping, design and implementation of controls to support the risk-based coverage of market abuse/manipulation and rogue trading behaviours globally
- Assist with the development of controls by undertaking action for producing trade monitoring scenarios, working with product trade monitoring heads and Technology to ensure controls are deployed in a risk-prioritised and efficient manner
- Follow standard procedures and methodologies to ensure control delivery processes are performed thoroughly and accurately
- Assist in analysing controls/metrics to monitor effectiveness of the transaction monitoring operating model on an ongoing basis
- Help define and document required standards for control deliveries, and ensure deliveries are in line with expectations
- Follow standard procedures and methodologies of data sourcing and data quality processes for transaction monitoring, working with relevant stakeholders to review data quality issues and agree remediation
- Manage remediation plans to address regulatory requirements & feedback in relation to trade monitoring capabilities; defining and implementing corrective action plans to build out a robust and sustainable technology platform and change management modelfor trade monitoring analytics

**Knowledge, Experience & Skills**:

- Understanding and interaction with various Stakeholders and Technology teams to shape and deliver technology solutions in support of required business outcomes
- Experience in successfully developing, leading and completing business changes combined with excellent stakeholder engagement and coordination
- Experience gathering, extracting and analyzing data to identify requirements and/or the root cause of data investigations
- Good awareness and understanding of the key drivers, industry challenges and opportunities for trade monitoring
- Strong knowledge and experience of the market trading or support functions desirable.
- Broad knowledge of surveillance processes desirable.

**Skills and Competencies**:

- Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills
- Use metrics and statistical data to help drive trade monitoring capabilities
- Good level of comfort in performing data handling, with use of SQL/Excel or other similar analytical tools
- Familiarity with technical delivery methodologies and best practices, particularly around versioning, repositories and user stories
- Significant attention to detail with an ability to contribute effectively to formative strategic development where necessary
- A good team player in a co-operative and collaborative working environment
- Communication, Interpersonal and organizational skills to mobilize and motivate delivery
- Management and facilitation to achieve objectives, with both local and with remote teams
- A practical and goal orientated focus with excellent verbal and written communication skills utilizing different media, to effectively communicate with senior management, clients and regulators

**Qualifications**:

- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- PRINCE2, or other project management qualifications, desirable but not mandatory

**Education**:

- Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
