**About the role**

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Catering Supervisor to join our small and friendly team at our Whistlestop Café in Matlock Bath. You will support our catering projects, overseeing the day to day smooth running of the cafe. This is a full-time role worked on a rota basis and will include weekend and bank holiday working.

In this role, you’ll be supporting management in the day-to-day operation of our catering sites.
You will prepare food and beverages to a high standard, whilst always delivering excellent customer service. You’ll oversee the running of the café in the absence of the Visitor Centre Manager and support the team through a host of daily tasks, ranging from till operation through to assisting customers with their queries. This role also provides the exciting opportunity to support engagement events, develop our menu, and support in the running of additional catering sites in our portfolio.

To be successful you will need to enjoy working in a customer facing role, have the ability to multitask and motivate a team and be flexible in terms of working hours.

**Responsibilities**

In this role, you'll_:_
- Run the Cafe in the absence of the Visitor Centre Manager, acting as key holder, opening and closing the premises, and support other catering outlets in the area
- Prepare food and beverages to high standards, complying with all relevant food hygiene and environmental health regulations
- Support with the day to day running of the Cafe, always providing great customer service, and ensuring your fellow team members are working to the best of their abilities
- Support the Visitor Centre manager in delivering an annual calendar of events
- Support with the ordering process to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained and assist with regular stock management processes.
- Operate the till, handling cash and card transactions
- Deal with routine customer queries such as menu availability and allergen information
- Carry out general café duties including taking pride in keeping all catering equipment clean and well-maintained

Our Charity is growing, we currently employ 80 people and, crucially, we are supported by over 500 volunteers. We have three delivery teams; Wilder Landscapes, Wilder Communities and Income Generation, supported by the Finance and Resources team. Each team has a Department Lead who reports to the Chief Executive who is responsible for the operations of the Trust and who, in turn, reports to the Board of Trustees which governs the organisation.
