**Team Information**

Exciting new opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor

With the ability and desire to develop client relationships and further business, you will be a vital part of our established regional and UK wide Architecture and Building Surveying Team.
You’ll have the flexibility to either be based from any of our offices in the South West of England.

**The Role & Key Responsibilities**

This role offers unrivalled variety and interest, working with colleagues who manage some of the most beautiful estates in the region, as well as private clients, charities and institutional clients, working on different types of buildings including residential,commercial, educational and agricultural buildings. Much of our work focuses on historic buildings or historic settings.
The role includes:

- Building surveys and report writing
- Preparing scheme designs and specifications so an ability to use CAD is desirable but not essential
- The preservation/conservation of traditional and historic buildings
- Advising on the management and supervision of building maintenance work
- Dealing with and advising on property legislation and building regulations
- Preparation of fee proposals
- Advising on construction design and management regulations

**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**
- Knowledge of traditional construction and working with historic and listed buildings and rural property
- Good organisation skills with ability to prioritise and manage workload
- Strong written communication and report writing skills with good attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
- Good understanding of Health and Safety and CDM 2015 regulations
- Self-motivated and ambitious and able to work as part of a team
- Must have the capacity to manage individual instructions, build client relationships and provide an outstanding level of client care
- Not essential but use of CAD, Revit, Autocad or similar would be helpful
- Full driving licence and own vehicle
- Member of the RICS or CIOB or CIAT or similar
