Band 5 Midwife

The successful applicant will work either as an inpatient midwife within the hospital or as part of a Continuity or Care team, and must be flexible to work in either model. Rotation within the maternity unit includes Delivery Suite, Ward 53 (antenatal and postnatal) along with Triage and the Midwifery Led Unit. It will be in a shift pattern to include weekends and night duties. As we are striving to achieve Continuity of Carer models throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period and we are committed as a Trust to implement Better Births, you must also be flexible to work within these models as midwife.

This will be paid for by the Trust and then deducted from your salary over a period of 3 months. As this vacancy is within the division of Women'sand Children's, there is a mandatory requirement for successful applicants to join the DBS update service.

The cost of joining the update service is £13 per year, and applicants are liable to cover this cost with no reimbursement from the Trust. Further details of how to join the update service will be provided upon appointment.
