**Job description**:
To continue on this mission, through such a diverse and transformative sector, we are seeking to find the next Executive Chair of EPSRC. This is a vital and challenging role and requires a leader with the skills and attributes that will enable us to tackle today’s priorities and create tomorrow’s opportunities.

Advised and challenged by EPSRC’s Council, the Executive Chair is responsible for setting and implementing the strategic vision for EPSRC. As a visible and credible leader of both EPSRC and the wider engineering and physical sciences research community, you will provide direction, ensuring delivery of world-class research, innovation, skills development and infrastructure investment.

As the Executive Chair, you will also have a responsibility to ensure the health and vibrancy of your domain and are encouraged to work closely with and expand your connections within your domain community. This enables our Executive Chairs to harness the strategic insight they gain to build key relationships across the research and innovation system, and to foster engagement.

**Selection process details**:

- Feedback will only be provided if you attend an interview or assessment.- This role has a minimum assignment duration of 4 years. An assignment duration is the period of time a Senior Civil Servant is expected to remain in the same post to enable them to deliver on the agreed key business outcomes. The assignment duration also supports your career through building your depth of expertise.
