Rainbow Ward is seeking proactive, enthusiastic band 2 Clinical Support Workers to join the WWL family on our friendly Children’s Ward. The ward has benefited from recent investment to create a sensory zone, and we have a dedicated Teen Zone area, providing age appropriate spaces for our patients, day to day.

We are looking for a conscientious, enthusiastic, friendly person to join our team on Rainbow Ward at Wigan on a permanent basis.

You will have previous experience within a healthcare setting and ideally hold an NVQ 2, have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work independently.

Previous experience in working within a Paediatric setting would be desirable but is not essential.

You will be required to function as a member of the Multi-disciplinary Team by assisting the registered nurse in the health care provision for sick children/babies and their families.

On-Call

Please note that senior positions (AFC band 8A or above) may be expected to participate in an on-call rota, if the role is predominantly operational.
- To develop self to meet the evolving needs of the service, ensuring efficient and effective use of all resources.
- To provide good, general "house-keeping" duties as directed by qualified staff
- Demonstrate under pinning theoretical knowledge within their clinical practice of infection control, health and safety, ethical and legal issues
- Demonstrate adaptability of the role within distinct clinical environments
- Recognise the appropriateness of transferable skills when providing individualised high quality patient care
- Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements in accordance with Trust policies
- Undertake and regularly update Safeguarding training
