**Credit Controller**

We have an opportunity in our accounts department for an experienced credit control professional to join the team at Embleton.

**About the Role**

You’ll be responsible for:

- Processing cash, cheques, cards, BACS and online payments on a daily basis.
- Monitoring customer outstanding balances and chasing debts in accordance with company policy.
- Liaising with Directors for customers with payment issues and referring bad debts to our collection agents.
- Communicate to the rest of the department and Sales Area Managers about problem customers.
- Receive new account forms and carry out credit checks.
- Prepare direct debit collections on a weekly, fortnightly and monthly basis.
- Issue weekly statements to selected customers and monthly statements for all credit accounts.
- Provide copy invoices to customers when requested.
- Deal with incoming calls to the department and visitors to the company.
- Provide basic holiday and sickness cover for other members of the Accounts Department as required.
- Ensure the correct use and data update/maintenance of the Company IT system/PC.

Experience working within a busy office is of advantage but full training on company policies, procedures and systems will be provided.

**About You**

A skilled credit control professional, with good analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of numerical accuracy and reconciliation with the ability to use Excel and learn IT and in-house systems efficiently. You will be a confident multi-tasker who can be resilient and show a great team spirit. You will be naturally friendly and want to get stuck in, working with your team to deliver great results. You will have an enthusiastic approach to learning new skills. You’ll deliver high standards, working accurately and efficiently.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Previous experience in a credit control position
- Professional telephone manner
- Computer literate including Excel (Vlookup, Pivot Tables)
- Good negotiation skills
- Proactive
- Excellent attention to detail

**Salary**: £28,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
