**The job itself**:
Pocklington Church of England Infant school is seeking to appoint a friendly, organised and efficient Senior Midday Supervisor, to work from 11.30am to 1.30pm, Monday - Friday, during the school term.
Your salary is paid in 12 equal instalments over the year even when it is the summer holidays.
As Senior Midday Supervisor, you will be responsible for the efficient deploying and supervising a team of Midday Supervisors, ensuring that all pupils have a safe, pleasant and sociable lunchtime.
All children at our school have a school lunch. We offer a hot meal, sandwich and jacket potato options. Lunchtime plays an important part of the social development of children and a large part of the children’s lunchtime is spent in social interaction in the dinner hall, on the playground and / or playing field.
Lunchtime supervisors have an influential role in developing hleathy eating habits, supporting positive relationships between pupils and managing behaviour in accordance with the school behaviour policy.
In addition to the duties required of all Midday Supervisors, the Senior Midday Supervisor will:
- be responsible to the Headteacher for the safety, welfare and conduct of pupils and of others on the site during the midday break and to ensure the smooth running of the dinner hall as directed by the School Business Manager;
- liaise with the Headteacher and or School Business manager to reorganise staffing during absences, in order to maintain appropriate supervision ratios;
- assist with the appointment of Midday Supervisors;
- ensure that there is suitable play equipment in use on the playground and in the classrooms during wet lunchtimes;
- ensure lunchtime is efficient by allocating duties to the supervisory team;
- ensure that Health and Safety practices and procedures affecting pupils and supervisory staff are maintained, including the reporting of accidents, action taken, etc.
- inform the Headteacher (or School Business Manager in their absence) in the case of a serious illness or accident immediately;
- liaise with class teachers and PE apprentice;
- share our school values: Respect, Compassion, Perseverance and Truth
- liaise with the School Business Manager regarding training needs;
- seek to continually improve the provision so that all pupils have a safe, pleasant and sociable lunch time.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged.
